WHY GLOBAL INVESTMENT IN COTTON AND TEXTILES MATTERS

The $1.8 trillion global textile and apparel industry is undergoing a major transformation. Rising production costs, shifting sourcing patterns, supply chain disruptions, and new sustainability regulations are reshaping where and how the world manufactures. This shift is creating unprecedented opportunities for new, competitive, resilient, and sustainable suppliers.

Why ICAC Member Countries?

ICAC Member Countries are uniquely positioned to lead the next wave of global textile and apparel growth. They represent 55% of global GDP, a 1.5-billion workforce, and account for 47% of global textile exports and 58% of imports, spanning the full value chain from cotton production to finished apparel.

They offer strong comparative advantages, including:

  • Abundant, high-quality cotton
  • Preferential market access
  • Competitive labor and production costs
  • Modern infrastructure, strategic geography, and efficient logistics
  • Supportive government policies for investment and industrial growth
